About us
Slogan: Championing justice for all!
Established in June 2021 as a Community-Based Organization (CBO), the Nakuru Community Justice Center (NCJC) is committed to enhancing access to justice for the poor and marginalized in Nakuru. Our mission is to ensure that everyone, regardless of their financial situation, receives the legal support they need. In just a few years, NCJC has achieved remarkable milestones: resolving over 1,170 cases, rescuing more than 30 children, enrolling 10 children in schools, and successfully prosecuting offenders in cases of child abuse and Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV). We've organized 12 legal aid clinics, facilitated over 25 paralegal training sessions, and partnered with Radio Yetu to amplify our community sensitization efforts. Collaboration is at the heart of our work. We have partnered with local communities, institutions like the Chief's office and the police, as well as organizations such as FIDA, NLAS, and Kituo Cha Sheria to advance justice, equity, and fairness for all. These partnerships have strengthened our initiatives and broadened our reach. To enhance our impact, NCJC is transitioning from a CBO to a Trust. This strategic move will position us to better serve the community and collaborate with other organizations. We welcome new partnerships to help us further our mission and create a more just and equitable society in Nakuru County. Together, we can build a future where justice is accessible to all.

Impact
Our team of at least 40 trained paralegals, spread across Nakuru County and beyond, serves as vital intermediaries between the legal system and the community. These paralegals, who are members of the communities they serve, have a unique advantage in meeting the needs of the community. They are actively involved in Nyumba Kumi activities, Ward Security committees, and the Court Users Committee, ensuring that grassroots justice permeates the entire fabric of the Nakuru community.
